Tyler Dunegan

Tyler Dunegan was born and raised in Osceola, Arkansas, on the Mississippi River in the Arkansas Delta. He graduated from Osceola High School and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Tyler married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, and together they have three children. The family is deeply committed to helping others and served several years as licensed foster parents. They are active members of the Osceola First Baptist Church, where Tyler serves as Deacon, church treasurer, and financial secretary and organizes the annual National Day of Prayer community luncheon.

In 2011, Tyler joined the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office as an Outreach Coordinator. The following year, in 2012, he was elected to the Osceola City Council, becoming the youngest elected official in the city’s history. A Certified Municipal Official through the Arkansas Municipal League, Tyler serves on the League’s Executive Committee, chairs the Public Safety Advisory Council, and has proudly contributed to its Advisory Council for First Class Cities. He has also represented his community on the National League of Cities’ Community and Economic Development federal advocacy committee and Small Cities Council.

Tyler’s community involvement reflects his dedication to education, economic development, and service. Appointed to the Arkansas MPRC by Governor Asa Hutchinson in 2017 and reappointed by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in 2026, Tyler also serves as treasurer of the South Mississippi County Intermodal Authority. He is a member of the Osceola A&P Tax Commission, the Mississippi County Single Parent Scholarship board (which awards scholarships to low-income single parents pursuing post-secondary education for skilled employment), the Mississippi County Baptist Association, and is Vice President of the Mississippi County Museum, an interpretative center of the Great River Road. In Rotary International, Tyler has held numerous leadership roles, including Club Secretary, Club Treasurer, Club President, Assistant District Governor, and he is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Previously, Tyler served on the boards of directors for the Mississippi County Animal Shelter, Acts of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, Osceola/South Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce, South Mississippi County United Way, and the Osceola Planning Commission. He also co-chaired the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
