Des Moines County Heritage Museum
Three floors of exhibits and displays that depict the storied history of the land, industry and people who have made Des Moines County, Iowa worthy of historical note and visits. The building was the “Free Public Library” from 1898 until 2006, when the city sold the building to the DMC Historical Society for the purpose of creating a center to preserve and communicate the events and people who have shaped this bend in the mighty Mississippi River.
