Environmental Learning Center

The Environmental Learning Center at Discovery Park is just a short jaunt off the Great River Road. It features two 1,200-gallon fish aquariums with native fish and several ambassador animals including snakes, turtles, amphibians, and raptors. Hands-on displays teach about the natural history of Iowa and what life is like along the Mississippi River. There are over 100 mounted animals on display, a kids exploration area, and Mr. Bakke's Book Nook. Discovery Park is also beautiful to visit with two ponds stocked for fishing, prairie, woodlands, as well as hard and soft surfaced trails. There is a Historic Old Barn on-site, a historic cemetery, and the Muscatine Arboretum.
