Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge Visitor Center
The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge was
established in 1924 by Congressional legislation and stretches from Reads Landing, Minnesota, to Princeton, Iowa. The refuge’s visitor center in Onalaska is home to a variety of exhibits about the Mississippi River region and its wildlife, as well as hiking paths and a Mississippi River overlook where visitors can see bald eagles, migrating waterfowl, swans, and other birds.
