Katie Hammond

Katie is the Executive Director for Louisa County Conservation in Iowa. She has a degree in Animal Ecology from Iowa State University with emphasis in Wildlife. Louisa County Conservation has a staff of 6. They excel in environmental education and managing 18 parks and wildlife areas which includes boat accesses on the Iowa and Mississippi Rivers, campgrounds and public hunting areas. Marketing and promoting the wise use of our natural resources is a key component. Katie spends quite a bit of time on the Mississippi River paddling, boating and fishing. She also enjoys hiking, hunting and exploring the wilder areas of Iowa and beyond.
