Peter MacDonagh
Peter MacDonagh, horticulturist, landscape architect grew up in Ireland. As a lad he picked potatoes, gardened around his family’s 1700 thatched home, messed about in streams & read Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn’s Mississippi River adventures. Peter & Elizabeth, his wife/partner/architect met at the University of Minnesota (UofMN) and did a joint thesis on a Mississippi River Interpretive Center on Nicollet Island in Minneapolis for the northern portion of that great river (Cairo to Ithasca). Peter & Elizabeth founded & ran the Kestrel Design Group for 30+ years & sold the business portion to a client in 2020. Elizabeth, Peter & their twin daughters share a home, while their twins attend college. Peter’s been adjunct faculty in the College of Design at the UofMN for 20+ years, loves his family, enjoys gardening, riding his electric bike & is grateful that Minnesota has been so Nice to him.
