Overview

We are excited to launch our summer marketing campaign—Summer Fun Along the Great River Road—to highlight the many great summer events in states and river communities up and down our All-American Road.

The campaign will highlight upcoming events all along the Great River Road throughout the summer, with a focus on events taking place between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Events and Great River Road destinations will be promoted in several ways, including:

Searchable listings on the Great River Road website
A summer sweepstakes
E-newsletter content, social media posts and more

The campaign will run from May 27 to September 2, 2024.

Submit your summer events

Share your summer events with us! We’re looking for summer events from states, MRPC commissions, DMOs, Interpretive Centers, and other organizations to fill out our event calendar on the Great River Road website.

Events must take place in the county or parish that includes your state’s section of the Great River Road or orders the Mississippi River. Our focus is on summer events taking place between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.

Add your events here, and please note that several fields are required. We encourage you to submit a photo of your event if one is available.

Summer Fun Along the Great River Road Giveaway

In conjunction with the events promotion campaign, we are launching a giveaway to encourage people to visit the Great River Road website and learn more about the events that are happening all summer long.

The Summer Fun Along the Great River Road Giveaway will run from May 27 to September 2, 2024, and be promoted on the Great River Road website and via social media and the Great River Road tourism e-newsletter.

Fans will enter for a chance to win one of three $100 prepaid gas cards they can use for their summer adventures on the Great River Road. One entrant will be selected at random as a winner in June, July, and August.

Please use your social media channels and e-newsletters to help us promote the Summer Fun Along the Great River Road campaign and encourage organizations in your area to share their events.

Feel free to tag the Great River Road’s accounts on Facebook and Instagram in your social media posts as well.
